The Community House is a 125 year old, 15-room, Victorian Queen Anne Mansion over looking Main Street, in Littleton, NH.
Originally built as an opulent home for a local timber baron, Charles F. Eastman, the Eastman Mansion was purchased from Chester Gray, by a group of town citizens in 1919 for $10,000 and the Littleton Community Center was formed as a non-profit organization.
The Community House was designated at the 1920 Town Meeting as Littleton's memorial to the soldiers and sailors of World War I.
The Annex was added in 1885 as the carriage house. The mansion and annex are the only properties in Littleton on the NH State Register of Historic Places.
The Community House has operated continuously as the only "Open House" in town, hosting public and private functions for non-profit and for-profit organizations.
Wendy and Briggs Clark are the resident hostess and custodian to welcome and assist those who rent rooms for all occasions.
